PLEASE NOTE

PLEASE DO NOT ASK US THE VALUE OF YOUR INSTRUMENT.  WE DO NOT GIVE VALUATIONS.

The Reed Organ and Harmonium Workshop carries out restorations and repairs to all makes of reed organ and harmonium.

We also supply materials and spare parts for the D.I.Y. restorer.

Our proprietor's great great grandfather started a family tradition when he worked for harmonium maker, William Evans back in the 1830's.

We are now in our 35th year of harmonium and reed organ restoration and we work on all makes of reed organ and harmonium.  Our clients include The National Trust, Museums, Private Collectors, Churches & Chapels and a University in central England.

Our approach is to conserve and not to over-restore or modernise.  A poor restoration can easily compromise the historical integrity of an instrument, and we take great care not to remove original detail, patina or features.  All the materials used are in-keeping with the original, such as woollen felts, specialist leathers, natural hot glue, rubbercloth, etc.

We also stock a wide range of parts from old instruments for use in restorations, and where parts are not available from stock, we manufacture to order.

Although we can carry out site visits within easy reach of Hebden Bridge, it is usually more economical for you to bring your instrument to us.  We are often able to carry out a necessary repair while you wait.  If more extensive work is required we can give you an estimate there and then.

We also supply materials and spares for D.I.Y. repair and restoration, including reeds.

We do not buy or sell instruments, but we can advertise your instrument on this web site for a small fee.

Please note that we do not give valuations or "guesstimates" of the values of reed organs or harmoniums.
